Top Medical Research Studies

We looked into how L-carnitine might help children facing myocardial injury during open-heart surgery. In our study involving 60 children with congenital heart disease, we split participants into two groups: one received L-carnitine before surgery, while the other got a placebo.

The findings were promising; the L-carnitine group showed lower levels of harmful markers indicating heart damage after surgery and better heart function compared to the placebo group. Overall, we found that L-carnitine may protect the heart and improve recovery in these young patients.

L-Carnitine normalizes heart rhythms
We explored the effects of L-Carnitine treatment on short QT syndrome type 1 (SQT1) using transgenic rabbit models. Our findings indicated that L-Carnitine and C16-Carnitine treatment effectively prolonged QT intervals and normalized action potentials in SQT1 rabbits. This suggests a direct benefit in managing this genetic heart condition. However, while promising, further study is necessary before L-Carnitine can be fully endorsed as a treatment for SQT1.

PDHA1 deficiency leads to heart issues
We explored the effects of the PDHA1 gene on heart health by creating human heart cells that lacked this gene. Our findings showed that these modified cells developed signs of heart disease, including enlarged cell size and impaired calcium handling, leading to decreased heart contractility.

Interestingly, when we used l-carnitine to boost energy production in these cells, we found that it helped stabilize calcium levels and prevented further heart damage. This suggests that enhancing energy metabolism could be a promising strategy for managing heart issues linked to PDHA1 deficiency.

Effective weight loss

This L-carnitine tartrate product works well, and I confirmed this after I'd searched for it. It breaks down faster in the stomach compared to regular L-carnitine, allowing for better absorption. After taking it, I noticed increased sweating during exercise, indicating its effectiveness. I recommend consistent cardio workouts to enhance weight loss—I've noticed a reduction of 2-2.5 kg without changing my diet much.

Heart energizer effect

I've been taking it for over six months. It’s said to be a heart energizer, and it certainly helps when I'm feeling weak in the heart. I take more than the recommended dose, and it proves very beneficial for me. This is my fourth repurchase.

L-Carnitine is working well for our dog, who has heart problems. Our veterinarian recommended it, and he has been on it for over a year now. I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement in his arrhythmia. The price is a bit high, but the benefits are significant.

This pilot study set out to understand how heart failure (HF) treatment influences the levels of serum carnitines in patients with both preserved and reduced ejection fractions. We found that in patients with HFpEF—especially those with hypertension—the reduction of acylcarnitines to free carnitines (AC/FC) after treatment correlated with improvements in heart function.

However, similar benefits weren't observed in patients with HFrEF. These findings suggest that while L-carnitine treatment may help in specific heart failure types, more extensive research is needed to confirm these results and understand the mechanisms involved.

Increased endurance
4 people found this helpful
I have been taking this L-carnitine for a week, and I've noticed the effects immediately—the calories burned per workout have doubled. Initially worried about my heart rate hitting 180, I opted for half a tablet before training and maintained a pulse of 150. My endurance has noticeably increased. This carnitine is the purest and suitable for vegetarians, which adds to its appeal. It aids in fat burning effectively during workouts.
